Havelock Operational Support

The Havelock Volunteer Fire Brigade attend around 70-80 calls a year ranging from MVAs, fires, Medicals, false alarms, weather events, boats sinking and line rescues. They have only just started using Operational Support in the last 12 months, and have already found them to be vital within their small brigade - which covers between Renwick and half way to Nelson on SH6 then half way to Picton along the Queen Charlotte drive and a good part of the Marlborough sounds.
The Operational Support members ride the appliance 277 if there is room, or they will follow in the Ute 2710. They do everything an operational firefighter will do, except wearing BA. The Brigade is looking to have their Op Support members do additional training, including a pump and ERD course, MVA course and we have had 1 already do the level 2 lines course.
