Silverdale Operational Support

The Silverdale Operational Support unit, established in 1964, currently has 10 members and covers the Silverdale and North Auckland area. The unit has an urgent response vehicle - a 2010 Ford Transit, which contains traffic control equipment, lighting and generator, and canteen facilities. It is one of two vehicles that carry the Waitemata Fire Districts Large Animal Rescue Kit, which covers from Managawai to Kaukapakapa. The vehicle also carries one small wet vac, plus a larger wet vac in stowage when required at larger incidents.
