Wallacetown Operational Support

The Wallacetown Volunteer Fire Brigade responds to a range of calls including structure fires, MVCs, medical co-response, vegetation fires, and to backup Invercargill Career Brigade and other surrounding brigades also with their tanker.
One of their Operational Support members is a registered nurse, and assists with the medical and MVC calls, which is very valuable to the brigade. Another member is a qualified pump operator and ERD Driver, which is also just as valuable. The Operational Support members perform general duties on the fire ground which may include traffic control, looking after portable pumps, and any other duties that they are able to carry out.
