Whitianga Operational Support

Responding to every firecall in it's area, the Whitianga Operational Support unit keep very active attending several hundred calls a year. The local population of 5,000 often swells to over 35,000 in the summer keeping the Brigade very busy. 
Whitianga 5929 is the dedicated response van - a 2011 Ford Transit. It responds to all purple medical calls and MVA's with both Operational Support and Firefighter members on board. Operational Support provide traffic control and also help with medical calls.
The brigade has been running for over 55 years in Whitianga.
